What I Cover

I write about defensive driving, traffic schools, and driver improvement programs for Driver Safety Academy. My goal is simple: I take the dry, confusing regulatory fine print and translate it into practical, time-saving guides that actually help you stay on the road.

My Background

I believe that safety shouldn't be complicated. You shouldn't need a law degree to understand a traffic ticket or a PhD to figure out which defensive driving course is legitimate. I’ve spent over a decade wading through the bureaucracy so you don’t have to. I do the heavy lifting on the research side to give you the "cheat codes" for better driving.

I didn't start out as a traffic safety expert. After getting my degree in English Lit from Pace University, I cut my teeth as a freelance technical writer for giants like Monster and Viacom. It was grueling work—taking massive, complex technical manuals and trying to make them readable.

Later, I pivoted to the startup world, working as a content strategist where speed and clarity were everything. That experience taught me a crucial lesson: clear language combined with the right technology can simplify even the most headache-inducing concepts.

When I’m not decoding DMV handbooks, I’m usually under the hood of my old sedan, trying to diagnose a rattle that only happens at exactly 45 mph. I love long road trips (especially the kind where you get lost on purpose), but my mechanical skills are still very much a work in progress. It keeps me humble and reminds me that no matter how much you know about cars, they can still surprise you.

Throughout my career I learn to appreciate how clear language and cutting edge technology can simplify complex concepts. I am passionate about writing, driving, and education.
